Do not choose this builder! We recently had a 10 year building report completed which noted many constructional faults and issues which will cost thousands to repair. Aveling’s response to this?………that they won’t be repairing or rectifying these and are basically washing their hands of it. We now have to submit a complaint to the Building Commission.
Aveling homes = Poor quality, poor customer service, unethical and completely untrustworthy. Avoid this builder at all costs!

March last year after looking around for builders it was quite a challenge to find the right one that suit my needs and budget. Fortunately I came across Aveling Homes who made me feel more comfortable and relaxed with their services. I found Aveling's staff to be very friendly and professional!!!
I'm very pleased with the products and quality they provided!
The completion of my house make me a happy man :)
    Cheers Yahpha

After signing up to build with Aveling, I have had many issues, some taking years to have rectified, some never addressed and still unresolved. Initially I found discrepancies with what I’d signed for and what my working floor plan showed. If I had not picked up that among other rooms, the garage was not the extra size I’d signed for, I would be stuck with a smaller 5990x5990 and as it is, I believe the third garage was meant to be 6100x3100 and isn’t. That was just the start. My soak wells were not put in the position they were meant to according to the plans they submitted to my shire and when I discovered they were where I was told they just can’t go where they were submitted and signed off for at the shire. I was told the doors they hung that were warped were a manufacturing problem (but they purchased and hung them), the front guttering area of house was flooding first rains after build as there were no down pipes near entry (apparently flooding is more ascetically pleasing) and one of the down pipes near garage was kinked up in the eave space contributing to the issue. Took 3 yrs to rectify faulty pipe and get the down pipe installed. The eaves on one side of the house has dropped and the area where the valley comes down on the roof profile floods with medium to heavy winter rains. Paint on alfresco ceiling has no sealer under it so it’s starting to lift, quickset render throughout house is like weak chalk, windows and doors not square, 5mm gaps over windows, tiles cracking, slab cracked in multiple places, garage floor sounds hollow across the middle. It seems the whole build was seconds or apprentices and I’ve recently discovered due to a burst grey water pipe (yes that nightmare is starting now) in an exterior wall cavity that there’s no grout where the ensuite kick panel of cabinets meets the base of the cupboards. I’m sure many people have reasonable homes built by this company but within a year of getting the keys, the warm fuzzy feeling of building my own home left and now I have to finance rectifying what they saved in short cuts and cheap labour at the time. Be vigilant and be sure to pay the extra cost of having a reputable inspector make sure they build your home properly and don’t accept their excuses with poor products.

Adding a new issue to the list. The front of my house build by Aveling has always flooded with rains outside at the front door area. Seems the people who installed the soak wells in the back when they are meant to be in the front, plumbed the pipe work up hill, today we have excavated 10mtrs of paving to access storm water pipes and cut 110mm of drop pipe from first down pipe off and raised the storm pipe along that length to get minimal flow towards the soakwells. The actual pipes out to main pipe even sloped back to house and all had stagnant water in them. The storm drain at the front is now 30mm first corse of brick slab edge and the paving and about 90mm below paving at rear of house. No wonder the front flooded since the first rains after moving in. Check their sub contractors work before taking keys off these people. Deplorable.

Been over 2 years since I’ve started my process with building, and still no where near completion. It’s been an absolute nightmare from the beginning from designs to brick changes due to being discontinued. The quality is poor absolutely disgusted with the brick work, cracks through bricks and cement, bricks not even cemented properly, daylight from the other side of walls, missing a brick that was supposed to be put in prior the gutters being put on now there’s gutters and a roof on. Roof plasters left out in the weather throughout winter are bowed significantly. Problems I have brought up in November have still not been actioned with. No matter how much you pay a company to build a house it shouldn’t look like this. Shows that there’s no pride in people’s work. I’ve had a friend build three houses and a major fire station in the time I’ve been building one home.

QUALITY BUILDER WITH 5 STARS ....
Overall, my experience with Aveling Homes was great!! From the construction consultant (Lukas Teague), construction consultants (Sarah and Danna) and finally construction supervisor (Damian) and receptionists......you were simply amazing. I had no issues with communication and dealt with the problems so well. Literally everyone was so pleasant and patient and understanding even I was showing my frustration when there are delays which was the only thing i find negative with Aveling Homes and i can't blame them while every industry was struggling with shortages and supply issues. And mostly we were part of every bit of construction and i am very happy with the quality of the house which is the most important thing and hard to find a quality builder these days. So, i highly recommend Aveling Homes.
